When we can open our hearts and work with what we are given, loving what’s before us — life stays possible.” -Mark Nepo
Sentimental day for me as I’m remembering my grandfather who would have turned 98 today. The year he passed, the months prior actually, I asked him what the secret to life was and he said one word — contentment. I remember this moment so vividly — in his wheelcheer in his nursing home. Couldn’t feed himself anymore, couldn’t care for himself anymore and this one word he quietly spoke.

Inspired by my grandfather — choosing the practice of contentment this week (and for weeks to come) Accepting what is, trusting what is — the pretty, the not so pretty, the crystal clear, the unknown. All of it. Loving what’s before me. Keeping “it” ( life ) possible.
I invite you to join me .
The last photo we took, the last candles he blew out. I’m grateful for his life, his guidance, his cheer.
I have another story about that I’ll save for another day :)
Until then — contentment, my friends —contentment.
